We have a boy who is VERY HAPPY to be in big kid school now. He LOVES his school and is so happy to go every day. He uses the car pool line as his own personal receiving line, saying hi to each of the teachers as he walks in and visiting the secretary in the lobby at her desk (she told me he stops to talk to her and say good morning every single day) on his way to class. He is thriving at this school. I’m so proud of him- not just for the the facts and information he has learned (which is admittedly pretty cool) but his confidence has just soared being here. He’s like a totally different kid- social and outgoing instead of hanging around the periphery. The first few weeks of school, he cried when I came to get him because “it’s so hard to leave” because school was so fun. THAT was what I was looking for in a school. Learning is fun and interactive and engaging. They meet him where he is- they’ve got math hard enough to challenge him and extra supports where he needs it (mostly motor skills). I couldn’t be more thrilled with what we’ve seen here. I’m so grateful that there is a school like this here for him and that we’re able to send him.
