9/29/17- Daddy has been gone pretty much all week long and Baylor has been missing him SO. MUCH. Baylor goes to bed around 7-7:30 every night, so when Michael doesn’t get home until 9, Baylor can go many days in a row without seeing him at all. So it was really nice to have a little bit of time tonight to just hang out and spend some time together. The hot weather broke yesterday and it’s finally turned a little cooler, so we thought it would be a great night to break out the fire pit and make some smores. Baylor’s favorite treat right now is those big jet puffed marshmallows, so we thought this would be a big hit. We were right. He loved everything from building the fire to tasting the s'mores. He preferred eating his smores one ingredient at a time (have I mentioned yet that it seems we’re related?) but we had a great time just being silly and hanging out. We played for a long time on his swing set (he “drove” us to Chick fil a and served us marshmallow ice cream). AND he slid down the slide for the first time!!!!! Gymnastics is really helping not just his strength, but his confidence in his body. He’s even learned to turn somersaults by himself!! We are so excited with the progress we’ve seen in him.
Things that happened this week that I didn’t get pictures of: playing at church during my small group and Disciple class, taking a meal to a friend who needed surgery (“noodles make you feel better, right Mommy?”), Mommy-Baylor Chick Fil A date for my birthday (oh yeah, I’m 30 now!), and shopping for supplies to make his Daniel Tiger costume. As we left the store, Baylor gave me a big hug and said “I love you, Mommy. Thank you for being so patient!” (That’s what I tell him after big shopping trips ♥️) Fun week, busy week. It was good to take some time to reconnect tonight. I wouldn’t want anything else for my birthday but time with my favorite two boys in the whole world. These guys are my whole heart.
