9/11-9/14/17- It’s been a busy week! We started this week holding our breaths as Hurricane Irma passed over Florida. Sanibel was due to take a direct hit, but we were extremely fortunate that it hit just a little Southeast of where they had predicted, leaving us on the weak side of the storm and thankfully very little damage to our condo complex, compared to what we were expecting.
It was our week to bring snacks and play doh to class this week, so we went shopping over the weekend, made play doh, and Baylor and I carried our many many bags into class on Monday morning. And Monday was picture day! Baylor looked extremely handsome in his flannel shirt, but if I’d known before Friday, I probably would have gotten his hair cut first. Oh well. We’ll see how it turns out.
On Tuesday, I started my new moms’ small group which was so much fun and really a great group of ladies. Wednesday, I attended a substitute teachers training at Habitat so I can fill in for any of the teachers who may need to take a day off. It sounds like a fun way to fulfill my volunteer hours! That evening Baylor and I went to church for my Disciple class and he went to the nursery. Then Thursday was gymnastics and I attended the Habitat Parents Association meeting that evening.
So our schedule has really picked up fast! But we’re quickly getting into a nice routine and it certainly does make the days and weeks pass much faster to be busier. I have to say, I’m probably happier than I’ve been in a long time. I love having a routine and schedule and it is so difficult to keep that in place when there is nothing outside of whatever you’ve made up in your head to keep you on target. It feels really nice to be able to start doing some things for me again and having opportunities to engage my brain on a slightly higher level.
