4/23-4/25/18- The theme for this week has been writing. Baylor came home from school on Monday and declared he wasn’t hungry because he “had so much work to do!” He went over to the refrigerator and asked for the dry erase tracing letters book that I’d gotten for him a few months ago (kept on top of the fridge due to the unwashable nature of dry erase markers), flipped to letter A and started to work tracing every letter in the book. He worked for a solid hour without stopping. He wanted me to show him how to make each letter correctly. Once I showed him how to find the red dots in the book and move from there, he was off and running on his own. We had tried tracing some letters a few months ago and it went ok- he was able to stay in the lines but it was pretty shaky. I can definitely tell that they’ve been working on handwriting at school because his letters this week have been looking TONS better than that first batch we did a few months ago. His grip is correct and strong and he can make each letter correctly. His letters are smooth and it doesn’t take very long for him to form each one. Just a little more practice and he’ll be writing on his own!!
