4/21/17- We had planned to go to Thunder Over Louisville tomorrow but it’s supposed to be cold and rainy. Today was warm and sunny so Daddy sneaked out of work a little early and we met him downtown for a late lunch on the deck of Joe’s Crab Shack and watched the planes practice. We ended up getting a full show! Planes zooming across the sky, turning loops, making formations, and taking huge dives. They’re really amazing to watch! Baylor was mesmerized. He wasn’t thrilled about how loud they were so he kept my hands over his ears almost the whole time (but he tells us anything above a whisper is “too loud!” anyway, so that’s not a big surprise).
On the way over, a few Army guys were setting up a helicopter for the festival the next day. They let Daddy and Baylor look/sit inside! It took Baylor a moment to work up his courage, but he did it! He was afraid it was going to take off, so he only stayed for a moment.
This was definitely the way to do Thunder… No crowds, lunch on the deck overlooking the river. Amazing.,
