3/18-3/24/17- Baylor and I went back to Tennessee on Friday. On Saturday morning, Papa, Nona, and NeNe went to breakfast with Papaw and Uncle Tommy. Tommy said he and Janis were sick so I chose to keep me and Baylor at home so that we wouldn’t chance getting sick for our upcoming trip to Texas. We took a walk to the playground instead! We had a lot of fun playing and walking/strolling together.
Mom, Whitney, and I got to go see the new live action version Beauty and the Beast that night! It was sooooo good and it was really fun to get to have a girls’ night out. I can’t wait to show Baylor once it comes out so I can fast forward through the scary parts.
On Tuesday, Mom and I drove to Indianapolis for the inspection on our house. I was really excited to show her the house and get her opinion on how to arrange furniture in the kind of funky living room layout. Unfortunately, we found out that there is a significant amount of repairs that need to be done to the house. The windows all have to be replaced, the entire first floor needs new flooring, there is mold all in the chimney so it has to be taken down and rebuilt…. It’s a lot. Plus the entire house needs to be repainted and because of the specialty techniques used in every room, that’s going to be much pricier than we were expecting. We’re going to get contractors out to get estimates on the work that needs to be done, but it’s unlikely that it could be done before we need to move in. And who knows if the sellers are even willing/able to fix all that stuff. So we will see, but it’s discouraging to know that after all this, we could still have to go back to the drawing board.
We came back to Louisville that night and headed home the next day. Mom discovered the next morning that she had left her cosmetic bag with her contacts at our house. She had to leave the next day to go out of town, so we met Michael in Elizabethtown to retrieve them. We brought Baylor with us at least so they could see each other since it’s been almost a week and it’ll be awhile before they get to see each other again. Baylor was really happy to see Daddy, but I think Daddy was even happier to see him!!
Baylor remembered that Papa showed him a Barney tape on the VHS player in his office where he dubs our home movies into DVDs. Baylor kept asking me for Barney while we were in there, so finally I asked “Did Papa show you Barney on that TV?” He said yes. I said, “well I’m not really sure how to turn it on.” So Baylor turned it on for me and up popped Barney. So he was right. As usual.
