11/21-11/24/17- After Nona, Papa, Nene, and Jake left, Baylor and I headed up to Tressie’s house for a few days. I wasn’t ready to be alone yet and Tress has been through enough of her own stuff that grief isn’t scary to her, so it was a good place to go and just be able to talk and get stuff off my chest. As it was last year for her, planning and cooking Thanksgiving was a good distraction and gave me something to do to help pass the time. Daddy surprised us for showing up for Thanksgiving dinner! We weren’t expecting him to be able to make it, but he walked in just before we started and it was a really nice surprise. On Friday, Lori, Tressie, Maci, and Gigi came down to my house for “Black Friday.” We just went out to lunch and to a few boutiques in Zionsville for something different, but it was a fun day. I really enjoy doing Thanksgiving together with them and cooking and shopping with them is quickly becoming one of my favorite holiday traditions.
The picture from the bathroom is Baylor seeing the American flag outside Tressie’s window and that’s what he did. I have no idea how he knew to do that but he stood at attention like that for several minutes until I finally told him that he didn’t have to keep standing there.
